When not fronting "Tequila Rose" you can find Rick  filling in with other top area country bands.

John has sung and played guitar in country and rock bands in Ohio and Northern California since 1970.  After locating to the Bay Area in 1976,  he worked as a soloist and in duos and trios in popular San Francisco entertainment clubs such as the Tarr & Feathers Saloon and the Eagle Cafe.  John played lead guitar with SF songwriter Jamie Clark’s band, and he had his own country & classic rock  band “The Jolly Ranchers” in the SF area until 2008. John was a close musical partner with guitarist Paul Robinson, and singer Katie Rose, and played in the blues band “Roadwork” with drummer  Roy Blumenfeld of the famed “Blues Project”. He toured as a bassist with Canadian cowboy legend Ian Tyson in 1990.  Before joining Tequila Rose, he was lead guitarist in the New Jersey based Tom Petty tribute band “Damn the Torpedoes".

Joe was born and raised in a middle class section of Brooklyn, NY, called Marine Park. He’s done the best he can to bury his Brooklyn accent but it still slips out sometimes when he’s telling a joke. Joe studied Classical and Jazz guitar from the age of 8 and studied music at several colleges. Joe’s private musical education went well beyond his college education. His guitar mentor was Sid Margolis, who played in the big band era with Frankie Carle and Benny Goodman among others and was staff guitarist at several New York TV studios in the 50's and 60's.
